RAF Mildenhall

RAF Mildenhall

RAF Mildenhall is a Royal Air Force station located at Mildenhall in Suffolk. Despite its status as an RAF station, it primarily supports United States Air Force operations. It is currently the home of the 100th Air Refueling Wing (100 ARW).  100th ARW has served as the lone air refueling wing for U.S. Air Forces in Europe. RAF Mildenhall and nearby RAF Lakenheath are the two main U.S. Air Force-operated bases in the UK.

The 501st Combat Support Wing, based at RAF Mildenhall, is a non-flying unit that provides administration and operation of the various smaller Air Force units scattered across the UK - Air  RAF Croughton, RAF Alconbury and RAF Fairford.

The following units are also based at RAF Mildenhall - The 352d Special Operation Group (Air Force component for Special Operations Command Europe), The 95th Reconnaissance Squadron, The 488th Intelligence Squadron, The 727th Air Mobility Squadron and FISCSI Det Mildenhall.
